The process is easy...

There's a warm welcome waiting for you at St Helens Striders. We're a super friendly club and are always ready to welcome new members with open arms. Our process is simple:

1. Complete the enquiry form.

2. Our Club Secretary will be in touch and agree a date for you to come down and try a session

3. Attend your trial session and continue to visit as a guest for up to a month

4. If you enjoy it and want to join us, pay your joining fee.

Frequently Asked Questions...

Can I try the club before I join?

Yes, you are welcome to attend sessions for up to a month from your trial session. Anyone attending sessions needs to complete the enquiry form and agree attendance with our Club Secretary. 

How fast do I need to be?

We are an inclusive running club, and cater to a huge variety of different running abilities. However, to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable experience, you should be able to run 3 miles (5km) in less than 40 minutes. If you're not quite there yet, there are other groups in the area that you may want to explore before joining Striders. 

Is the Club Affiliated?

St Helens Striders is with England Athletics. Fully paid-up members enjoy 'registered athlete' status with England Athletes. 

Do I get a discount at races?

Most England Athletics licensed races offer a £2.00 discount for all registered athletes. 

Do I have to attend every session?

No, you can attend as many or as few sessions as you like. 

When and where are training session?

We meet every Monday and Wednesday evening at 7pm. Usually, we meet outside the Sticky Wicket on Ruskin Drive, St Helens. However, we also hold sessions on the Athletics Track at Sutton Leisure Centre, and sometimes run in other locations in the St Helens area (such as Sankey Valley in the summer). Our monthly training plans outline the meet-up location for each session.
