The Grand Prix requires 4 races – a 5 mile, 10k, 10 mile and half marathon. This competition naturally rewards the faster runners but is levelled as it requires runners to perform well over a range of distances and, as we know those who are better at shorter distances can be challenged by the longer distances and vice versa. There is also an Age Graded Grand Prix. In this competition performances across the 4 Grand Prix race distances are adjusted using ‘Age Graded Tables and the age of the competitor. The highest % is the winner.
The Grand Prix requires 3 races – 5k, 5 mile and 10k race. This competition naturally rewards runners who enjoy the shorter distances. The winner of this competition is the runner who has the lowest aggregate time across the 3 races.
NB* Members can only enter one of the above competitions so should chose carefully which one they think they have a better chance of doing well in.
